WACO, Texas – Two theater teachers at Waco High School have been placed on administrative leave as Waco Autonomous School District (WISD) investigates allegations of serious professional misconduct and negligence, according too a statement released by Principal Joseph Alexander to parents and guardians.

The district is cooperating with local law enforcement during the investigation, though Principal Alexander indicated he is restricted in the amount of information that can be publicly disclosed due to the sensitive nature of the personnel matter.

To ensure continuity of instruction, Larry Carpenter, the WISD Fine Arts Director, will be on campus to provide support for all theater classes. The district is actively working to secure a permanent educator for the remainder of the academic year.

“The safety and well-being of our students remains our utmost priority,” Alexander stated. “Waco ISD is fully committed to adhering to all appropriate procedures to protect students and address these concerns in accordance with district policy and the law.”

The district’s focus remains on maintaining a stable, supportive, and high-quality learning environment for all students at Waco High School.
