Zeche Waltrop to Host Diverse Indoor Events in March 2026
The historic Zeche Waltrop industrial complex will come alive with a series of indoor events throughout March 2026, offering a diverse range of entertainment from an Elvis tribute show to a high-energy club night and a family-friendly skate jam. The events aim to establish the venue as a year-round cultural hub for the city of Waltrop.
A Trio of Events
The Richtstrecke team, operators of the event location, are deliberately focusing on indoor formats during the quieter winter months, hoping to attract music and sports enthusiasts to the unique industrial setting. “Our goal is to establish the Waltrop mine as a lively meeting place for the city society all year round,” they explain.
“The Elvis Story” – A Tribute to the King
The month kicks off on Sunday, March 8th, at 6:00 PM with “The Elvis Story” in the Alte Dreherei. Oliver Steinhoff, recognized by Priscilla Presley as one of Germany’s finest Elvis interpreters, will perform a tribute to the “King of Rock’n’Roll,” spanning his early hits to his Las Vegas era. Tickets are available for pre-sale at 25 euros.
“Crossfire Party” – A Night of Alternative Music
On Saturday, March 14th, starting at 8:00 PM, the “Crossfire Party” will take over the Alte Dreherei. DJ Discobeat (Heiko Taschke) will bring the sound of Radio Vest’s “Crossfire” show to the dance floor, featuring rock, dark pop, wave, and indie music from artists like Depeche Mode, Soft Cell, Wolfsheim, and Linkin Park. Pre-sale tickets cost 14 euros, while tickets at the door will be 16 euros.
“Skate Jam” – A Roller Skating Extravaganza
Saturday, March 21st, will be dedicated to sports with the “Skate Jam.” From 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, a family roller disco with introductory lessons will be held, followed by a “Back to the 80s/90s” skating session until midnight. Rental skates, including some with light-up wheels, will be available. Admission ranges from six to nine euros.
