Shortly after midnight on March 1, 2026, approximately 80 people gathered on the Schlossplatz in Karlsruhe, waving Iranian flags and celebrating the reported death of Khamenei, according to reports. Similar gatherings occurred in other cities within the state.
Stuttgart Demonstrations
In Stuttgart, demonstrations took place both on Saturday, March 29th and continued into Sunday. Around 300 people demonstrated against the Iranian regime, expressing hope for a swift end to violence and the current government. A spontaneous gathering also occurred Saturday evening, with participants cheering the news from Iran. Another rally was planned for Sunday in the state capital.
Other Cities in Baden-Württemberg
Smaller demonstrations were also held in Freiburg and Heilbronn. In Freiburg, around 20 people protested under the slogan “Stop war and oppression in Iran.” In Heilbronn, approximately 10 people waved flags in a parking lot.
Nationwide Demonstrations
The celebrations were not limited to Baden-Württemberg. Demonstrations also took place in Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg, and Munich, with around 1,600 people gathering in the German capital on Saturday. Demonstrators expressed hope for regime change in Iran.
