Both soaps have been pulled from their regular evening slots to make room for the EFL Carabao Cup second-round match between Nottingham Forest and Leeds United, as reported by Metro.
Why ITV Changed the Soap Schedule
According to Metro, the scheduling shake-up occurs because ITV is broadcasting the Carabao Cup fixture featuring two Premier League teams head-to-head. Live coverage of the match begins at 7:30 pm, with kick-off scheduled for 8:00 pm. Under standard programming, Emmerdale normally occupies the 8:00 pm slot, with Coronation Street following at 8:30 pm. Because of the live sports broadcast, both programs must vacate their usual times.
When Coronation Street and Emmerdale Return to TV
Viewers will not have to wait long for new episodes, according to schedules confirmed by Metro and Digital Spy. Both soaps return to ITV tomorrow evening in their standard time slots. Emmerdale broadcasts at its usual 8:00 pm time, followed immediately by Coronation Street at 8:30 pm. In addition to the broadcast return, episodes become available to stream on YouTube and ITVX starting at 7:00 am. ITV has also scheduled catch-up broadcasts for Sunday to make up for the lost weekday episodes, with Emmerdale airing at 8:00 pm and Coronation Street at 8:30 pm.
