Widow’s Bay’ Sets Record with 14 Wins at 2026 Emmys

Record-Breaking Emmy Haul for Widow’s Bay

“Widow’s Bay” secured 14 total wins from 19 nominations during the 2026 Emmy Awards cycle. The haul included eight trophies banked during the Creative Arts ceremonies and six additional wins during the Monday night telecast. The series topped a competitive comedy field that included “Abbott Elementary,” “The Bear,” “Hacks,” “Margo’s Got Money Troubles,” “Only Murders in the Building,” “Shrinking,” and “Nobody Wants This.” Creator Katie Dippold accepted the final trophy of the evening for Outstanding Comedy Series, thanking Apple for supporting the project’s unique premise.

“Thank you, Apple, for letting us take this crazy, creative swing,” Dippold said from the winner’s podium. “They truly just let us do this weird show, and we can’t thank you enough.”

Individual Wins and Creative Arts Victories

The ensemble cast and crew converted nearly all of their nominations on Monday night. Matthew Rhys won the award for lead comedy actor for his role as Mayor Tom Loftis. Kate O’Flynn won for supporting actress, Stephen Root won for supporting actor, and director Hiro Murai won for directing in a comedy series—marking a first for an Asian director in that category. Dippold also claimed the trophy for writing in a comedy series for the show’s premiere episode.

During the preceding Creative Arts ceremonies, Betty Gilpin won the award for guest comedy actress. Additional technical and artistic wins for the series included production design, casting, cinematography, music composition, music supervision, sound editing, and sound mixing.

Set on a haunted Massachusetts island plagued by a centuries-old curse, “Widow’s Bay” stars Rhys alongside Root as fisherman Wyck, O’Flynn as Patricia, Dale Dickey as Rosemary, Jeff Hiller as Dale, and Kevin Carroll as Sheriff Bechir. Production on a second season is already underway.
