Willson Contreras Travels From Hawaii to Support William Contreras in World Series Game 5
Willson Contreras traveled from Hawaii to Tropicana Field on Wednesday to support his younger brother, Milwaukee Brewers catcher William Contreras, for Game 5 of the World Series against the Tampa Bay Rays, FOX Sports reported. Donning a Brewers jersey, the Boston Red Sox veteran arrived to watch his brother on baseball’s biggest stage as the Brewers held a 3-1 series lead entering the night.
The journey capped an eventful stretch for the brothers, who earlier in the year shared a championship roster with Venezuela during the World Baseball Classic. In March, both players contributed to Venezuela’s 3-2 victory over the United States in the tournament final in Miami. Now, Willson watches from a front-row seat as William pursues a second major title within the same calendar year.
William Contreras Posts Strong Fall Classic Numbers Ahead of Game 5
William Contreras enters Game 5 as one of the standout performers of the Fall Classic. Through the first four games of the series, the Brewers catcher has batted 7-for-17 with three RBIs. Beyond his production at the plate, he also threw out base runners attempting to steal in each of the opening three games of the matchup.

The Rays forced Wednesday’s contest by securing a 12th-inning walk-off win on Tuesday at Tropicana Field. That victory extended the series, giving Willson Contreras enough time to make the lengthy flight across the Pacific from Hawaii in time for Wednesday’s opening pitch.
Historical Precedent for Winning Both the World Baseball Classic and World Series
A World Series victory for William Contreras would place him alongside select company in baseball history. Only two players, Alex Bregman and Luke Gregerson, have won both the World Baseball Classic and the World Series in the same calendar year, achieving the dual feat in 2017. William is joined on the current Brewers roster by teammates Jackson Chourio and Antonio Senzatela as contenders looking to match that rare historical milestone.
