Precision and Community: Schützenkorps Winsen Hosts Annual Guest Shooting Event
The Schützenkorps Winsen recently concluded its annual guest shooting competition, an event that blends competitive precision with community networking. Bringing together participants from local businesses, associations, government agencies and private groups, the competition served as a benchmark for who possessed the steadiest hand and the keenest eye in the region.
Beyond the competition, the event emphasized social cohesion, with guests gathering at the clubhouse and shooting garden to foster connections long after the final shots were fired.
Competition Format and Technology
This year’s event featured 19 teams competing using club-provided rifles. To ensure maximum accuracy and fair judging, the competition employed an electronic small-bore target measurement system.

The team structure allowed for a maximum of six shooters per group, though only the top four scores were counted toward the final total. For those not competing in the main event, training targets were available to let newcomers experience the discipline of sport shooting.
The Leaderboard: Team Results
The team “Dran-Drauf-Drüber” emerged victorious, securing the top spot with a total of 177 rings. In addition to the win, they earned the “Winsener Schloss,” a hand-carved wooden traveling trophy they will hold for one year. Notably, “Dran-Drauf-Drüber” also ranked as the best team composed entirely of non-shooting club members.
The competition for the remaining top spots was tight, decided by “teiler” (divider) scores when total rings were tied:
- Second Place: “Die Küchencrew 81” – 174 rings (Teiler: 324)
- Third Place: “Volksbank Lüneburger Heide e. G.” – 174 rings (Teiler: 508)
- Fourth Place: “Volkstanzkreis 2” – 172 rings
- Fifth Place: “Finanzamt 2” – 169 rings
Individual Standouts
While the team spirit dominated the day, two individuals delivered exceptional performances that stood out from the crowd:

- Best Individual Shooter: Stefan Ortmann of team “Tabler Winsen,” who achieved an impressive 47 rings.
- Best Single Shot: Rudolf Berg of team “Schröder Immobilien 1,” who recorded the most precise shot of the day with a teiler of 93.4.
