C&D winner 24 days ago having returned to form on a basement mark. Third of 9 in conditions race at this C&D (5/4 fav) 17 days ago but wasn’t in quite the same form, not helping his cause by failing to keep straight under pressure. Won this race last year but 2 lb higher this time around.

Won at Lingfield 23 days ago for first success in almost 12 months and ran well when narrowly beaten at this C&D next time but that good form came to a halt when fifth of 9 in handicap at Kempton (7/1) 5 days ago, racing freely and weakening from 1f out.

Has won last 2 races in conditions company, dominating at Lingfield before following up here. Won 9-runner conditions race at this C&D (5/2) 17 days ago, made all and went with zest. Returns to handicap and hat-trick can’t be ruled out in this sort of nick.

Unreliable sort who hasn’t won in 17 starts since, last of 10 in handicap at Southwell (25/1) 18 days ago as she quickly reverted to type, slowly into stride and always behind. Tongue strap removed but isn’t one for maximum faith.

Remains with sole career win but bounced back to finish second of 9 (behind Beauzon) in conditions race at this C&D (28/1) 17 days ago. Back in handicap company and needs to prove that wasn’t a one-off.

Second at Newcastle 52 days ago with visor refitted but isn’t straightforward and winless in 18 races. Eighth of 10 in handicap at Newcastle (20/1) 31 days ago, below form back in handicap company. Needs things to fall right.

Winless in 13 career starts and out of sorts in recent months. Tenth of 11 in handicap at Kempton (80/1) 26 days ago, did too much in front when tried in blinkers and weakened quickly. First-time cheekpieces replace blinkers now reverted to sprinting. Bit to prove.

Returned from 19-month break in January but has offered little in three runs since, sixth of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton (200/1) 13 days ago and never involved. Over 3 years since only career win, now 21 races without success, and plenty to prove.
