Presbyterian Women’s Tennis Faces Coastal Carolina and UNC Wilmington
CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women’s tennis team (4-4) continues its road trip this weekend with matches against Coastal Carolina on Saturday, February 28, at 10:00 a.m., and UNC Wilmington on Sunday, March 1, at noon.

Blue Hose Notes
Presbyterian dropped a 7-0 road match at Davidson on Wednesday, February 25.
The Blue Hose utilized two novel doubles teams against the Wildcats, pairing Ladina Bruhin and Grace Katzman on court two, and Roxy Valdes and Mary Ellen Longmire on court three.
Ladina Bruhin earned her third Big South Freshman of the Week honor on Wednesday, February 25, after a three-set singles win against Charleston’s Sia Cariov on February 18.1 Bruhin is the first player in program history to receive the award three times, surpassing Beth Taylor (2017) and Claudia Sanchez (2022), who each won it twice.
Bruhin leads PC in singles wins this season with five, while Grace Katzman and Mary Ellen Longmire are tied for second with four wins apiece.
A Closer Look at the Blue Hose
Presbyterian returns four players from last season: McKenzie Davis, Mary Ellen Longmire, Sofia Rodrigo Hidalgo, and Elle Sceney.1 The team also welcomes five newcomers: Katherine Bauer, Ladina Bruhin, Luciana Parrilli, Roxy Valdes, and sophomore transfer Grace Katzman from North Greenville University.
Fall Big South Doubles Championship
McKenzie Davis and Ladina Bruhin won the Big South Fall Doubles Championship in October as the No. 3 seed.1 They secured three wins in the tournament, culminating in an 8-4 victory over Marina Skegro and Carlota Farres of Charleston Southern in the final. This win earned them automatic entry into the ITA Conference Masters Championships in San Diego, where they reached the round of 16.
Spring Schedule
Joel Roberts is in his seventh season as head coach of the Presbyterian College women’s tennis program.1 The team will play 22 dual matches this spring, hosting 13 at the Templeton Center Tennis Courts. Big South home matches include Longwood on March 8, Gardner-Webb on March 19, and Charleston Southern on March 25.
Scouting the Chanticleers
Coastal Carolina holds a 14-0 all-time record against Presbyterian.1 The teams have met annually for the past five years. Coastal Carolina enters Saturday’s match with a 4-2 record, having defeated Charleston Southern 4-0 on Tuesday. Catherine Hewitt is in her 15th season as head coach of the Chanticleers.
Scouting the Seahawks
UNC Wilmington has a 6-0 all-time record against Presbyterian.1 The two teams have met in each of the past four seasons. The Seahawks are 1-1 to start the year and last played on Sunday at UNC Asheville, where they fell 6-1. John Ware is in his 26th season as interim head coach of the Seahawks.
