The useful life of the Xbox Series X | S and PS5 could be longer than initially expected. A new report suggests that Microsoft envisions them as low-cost alternatives to the upcoming Xbox console and PS6. Rising storage and memory prices have inflated the expected prices of upcoming gaming systems.

One of the main concerns of new Xbox console e PS6 it’s the price. Higher memory costs and memory they could make new systems less accessible. However, according to a new report, Microsoft expects current-generation options to remain viable for the foreseeable future.

Given the pricing rumors for the new Xbox console and PS6, there will be a huge market for affordable alternatives. Microsoft has labeled its own next gaming system as “high-end”. Meanwhile, some industry insiders predict that the PlayStation alternative will have an MSRP of $600-$900. To add to the concerns, the Series X|S and PS5 are more expensive than when they launched in 2020.

What will replace the Xbox Series S?

When Microsoft debuted the Series AMD has hinted that it may have a 2027 release date. Corden suggested that OEM partners will offer simplified configurations to accommodate gamers of more modest means.

Casting doubt on Windows Central’s report, available Xbox consoles are struggling to find buyers. Sales have collapsed as the company focused on Windows devices and cross-platform gaming. Analysts have questioned whether it makes sense to continue production. The PS5, however, is better positioned to thrive even after the PS6’s release date.
