Xiaomi 17 – A Compact Flagship

The Xiaomi 17 is the smallest and lightest of the new trio, measuring 8.1 mm thick and weighing 191 g. It features a 6.3-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2656 × 1220 pixels (460 ppi) and an adaptive refresh rate of 1-120 Hz (LTPO). The display boasts a peak brightness of 3500 nits and supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, with TÜV Rheinland certifications for low blue light emission, flicker-free operation, and circadian friendliness.

Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 (3nm) processor, the Xiaomi 17 is available with 12GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage (LPDDR5X + UFS 4.1). It houses a 6,330 mAh silicon-carbon battery and supports 100W wired charging (compatible with PD-PPS adapters) and 50W wireless charging. A charging adapter is not included.

The Xiaomi 17’s camera system features a Leica-certified VARIO-SUMMILUX 1:1.67-2.4/17-60 ASPH lens. The main camera utilizes a 50MP Light Fusion 950 sensor (1/1.31 inch) with an f/1.67 aperture and OIS, offering a 23mm equivalent focal length. The telephoto lens is also 50MP, with f/2.0, OIS, and a 60mm equivalent focal length (5x optical zoom), enabling macro photography from 10cm. The ultra-wide camera features a 50MP Samsung JN5 sensor, a 102° field of view, and an f/2.4 aperture. The front camera has a 50MP sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and a 21mm equivalent focal length.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra – The Ultimate Camera Phone

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is larger and more powerful, described by Xiaomi as the thinnest and lightest model in the Ultra series to date, measuring 8.29 mm thick and weighing 218.4 g (Black, White) or 219 g (Starlit Green). It’s protected by Xiaomi Shield Glass 3.0, claimed to be 30% more drop-resistant than the previous Ultra generation, and carries an IP68 certification.

The Ultra features a 6.9-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2,608 × 1,200 pixels. It’s the first Xiaomi phone to utilize a redesigned OLED subpixel arrangement, aiming to increase sharpness and reduce energy consumption. Peak brightness is 3500 nits, with a 1-120 Hz LTPO refresh rate. Unlike the standard model, the Ultra has a flat display.

The chipset is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, paired with 16GB of RAM and 512GB or 1TB of storage (LPDDR5X + UFS 4.1). The battery capacity is 6,000 mAh, with 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. A charging adapter is not included.

The Ultra’s camera system is based on the VARIO-APO-SUMMILUX 1:1.67-2.9/14-100 ASPH lens. It features a one-inch Light Fusion 1050L sensor with LOFIC technology. The telephoto lens boasts a 200MP Samsung HPE sensor with a mechanical optical zoom range of 75-100 mm (variable focus) and an aperture of f/2.39-2.96. The ultra-wide lens covers 115° (14 mm equivalent) with a 50MP Samsung JN5 sensor.

Video recording capabilities are expanded to include 4K Dolby Vision at 30, 60, or 120 fps, and Log recording in ACES format at 4K/120fps.

Available accessories include a Photography Kit with a two-step mechanical shutter release, video button, and 270 mAh battery, and a Photography Kit Pro with an integrated 2000 mAh battery and ergonomic grip.

Leica Leitzphone – A Tribute to a Legend

Created to commemorate Leica’s 100th anniversary, the Leica Leitzphone (powered by Xiaomi) is the most exclusive model. It shares hardware specifications with the Xiaomi 17 Ultra but features a nickel-anodized aluminum alloy body and a physical rotating zoom ring. It is available only in black with a 16GB + 1TB configuration.

Key differences include a redesigned camera user interface, modes emulating historical Leica M9 and M3 cameras, Leica-aesthetic filters, and simulations of Leica lenses.
