Union State Prize Awarded to Young Scientists for Collaborative Research
Sirius, Russia – November 28, 2025 – A solemn ceremony was held at the V Congress of Young Scientists to present the Union State Prize to teams of young researchers for outstanding achievements in the natural, technical, and human sciences. The award recognizes collaborative research efforts between scientists from the Russian federation and the Republic of Belarus, aligning with the strategic goals of the Union State’s Scientific and Technological Development Strategy.
The ceremony was attended by State Secretary of the Union State of Russia and Belarus, Sergei Glazyev, and Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Denis Sekirinsky. Mr. Glazyev emphasized the importance of the prize, stating that the selected projects represent exploratory research, applied studies, and a fully developed technical product ready for implementation. He highlighted the importance of these advancements in bolstering the union State’s economic competitiveness, fostering innovation, and strengthening its defense capabilities.
Deputy Minister Sekirinsky underscored the importance of the event coinciding with landmark anniversaries – the 80th anniversary of the nuclear industry and the commemoration of the Great Victory – placing a notable responsibility on the scientific community to deliver impactful results. He encouraged the laureates to view the prize not as a culmination, but as a catalyst for continued success and innovation.
2025 Union State Prize Laureates
The Supreme State Council of the Union State,through a resolution dated November 3,2025,awarded the Young Scientists Prize to the following teams:
* “Structural and functional analysis of proteins for the development of innovative approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of socially significant diseases”: This prize was awarded to Dmitry Dormeshkin,Yuri Rizhikov,and Anastasia Tumilovich (Republic of Belarus),along with ivan Kapranov and Mikhail Konstantinov (Russian Federation).
* “Physical and electrochemical technologies for the synthesis of low-dimensional functional materials and structures for sensory systems”: The team of Tatyana Zubar and Daria Tishkevich (Republic of Belarus), and Ilya Kubasov and Andrey Turutin (Russian Federation) received the prize for this work.
* “Development and mastery of serial production of thermal imaging products”: Pavel Kent, Dmitry Kren, Ilya Svibovich, and Alexander Smekhovich (all from the Republic of Belarus) were recognized for their contributions to this technological advancement.
The laureates expressed their gratitude to the governments of both nations, the Permanent Committee of the Union State, and their respective leaderships for the recognition and support.
