Diocese of East Anglia Announces Youth Pilgrimages to Lourdes and Seoul
The Roman Catholic Diocese of East Anglia is offering two international pilgrimage opportunities for young people: a trip to Lourdes, France, in summer 2026, and a journey to Seoul, South Korea, for World Youth Day in summer 2027. These pilgrimages aim to provide enriching spiritual experiences and foster a sense of community among young Catholics.
Lourdes Pilgrimage 2026
This summer, diocesan youth will join the wider Diocese on a pilgrimage to Lourdes, a significant Catholic shrine. The pilgrimage is open to individuals aged 16 and above. Lourdes is renowned as a place of prayer, service, and profound spiritual encounter, attracting pilgrims from around the globe. Traveling as a diocesan group is intended to strengthen bonds and create lasting memories.
Further information about the Lourdes pilgrimage can be downloaded here. Bookings are now open and can be made here.
World Youth Day in Seoul 2027
In the summer of 2027, young adults aged 18 and over are invited to participate in World Youth Day in Seoul, South Korea. This global event brings together young Catholics from every continent with the Holy Father. World Youth Day offers a unique opportunity to experience the universality of the Church, deepen one’s faith, and connect with fellow young Catholics.
An information pack about World Youth Day in Seoul is available for download here. Applications to join the pilgrimage to Seoul can be submitted here.
Encouragement from the Diocese
Hamish MacQueen, Director of Youth Service, encourages young people to consider participating in these pilgrimages. “Both pilgrimages offer amazing experiences, and may even change your life,” he said.
