Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy urgently appealed to international partners for more air defense systems as Russia intensifies its aerial attacks across Ukraine. Zelenskyy emphasized the critical need for bolstering Ukraine’s air defense capabilities to protect its cities and critical infrastructure.

Recent Russian strikes have targeted energy facilities, causing widespread power outages and disrupting essential services for millions of ukrainians. zelenskyy stated that a significant increase in air defense assistance is vital to counter these attacks and safeguard the civilian population. He specifically requested additional Patriot and SAMP/T systems, citing their effectiveness in intercepting Russian missiles and drones.

“Every Patriot system, every SAMP/T, every air defense system that our partners provide saves lives,” Zelenskyy declared in a recent address. “We need more. We need them now.” He highlighted the vulnerability of Ukrainian cities to Russian air raids and the devastating consequences of failing to adequately defend against them.

Ukraine’s allies have pledged continued support, but Zelenskyy stressed that the pace of deliveries must accelerate to meet the escalating threat. He warned that delays in providing air defense aid will only embolden Russia and led to further destruction and loss of life.

The Ukrainian goverment is actively working with international partners to secure additional air defense systems and ammunition. Discussions are ongoing with the United States, Germany, and other European countries to expedite the delivery of critical military assistance.
