Zelenskyy Denies Russia’s Claims of Drone Attack on Putin’s Home

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy refuted Moscow’s allegations that Kyiv launched a drone attack targeting one of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s residences.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov asserted that Ukraine deployed 91 long-range drones in an attack on Mr. Putin’s state residence in Russia’s Novgorod region, located in the northwest of the country.

Lavrov stated that Russia would reassess its stance on peace negotiations following discussions between the US and Ukraine in Florida on Sunday. He described these talks as progressive.

Zelenskyy dismissed the claims as “another round of lies from the Russian Federation.”

“It is indeed clear that we had a meeting with Trump yesterday, and it is clear that for the Russians, if there is no scandal between us and America, and we are making progress – for them it is a failure, as thay do not want to end this war,” Zelenskyy told reporters via WhatsApp.

“I am sure they are simply preparing the ground for strikes, probably on the capital, probably on government buildings.”

Interfax and TASS news agencies reported on Monday that Kyiv used 91 drones in the attack on the property in the Novgorod region.

Lavrov confirmed that air defense systems intercepted the aerial attack and no injuries occurred, but warned that “such reckless actions will not go unanswered.”
