217 Student Films Head to Incheon Screenings
A total of 217 student-made films from seven municipal and provincial districts will screen at CGV Incheon on November 14, jachiuijeong.co.kr reported. The event marks a 35-film increase from the 182 entries submitted during the previous year.
The Incheon Metropolitan City Office of Education announced that the 4th Incheon Children and Youth Film Festival operates under the banner “Bringing Imagination to Reality! With InKY!” Organizers expect approximately 2,000 attendees, including participating students, parents, teachers, and local citizens.
Entries by Grade Level and Screening Schedule
Primary school students contributed the highest volume of work with 121 films, followed by 58 high school films and 38 middle school submissions. The schedule spans 14 screens at CGV Incheon, featuring an IMAX theater, a 4DX screen, and 12 standard auditoriums across five distinct screening blocks beginning at 10:20 a.m.
Audience members can attend question-and-answer sessions with student directors immediately following the screenings. The program also features eight invited guest works, which include historical festival prize-winners and short films from the Hawaii Diaspora.
Student Staff Direct Festival Workflow and Judging
Youth organizers known as “Inky People” direct the festival workflow. Since June, these student staff members have studied film analysis, critique writing, and judging criteria to prepare for hosting duties, stage management, and on-site evaluation.
The IMAX theater hosts a dedicated showcase titled “Inky People’s Perspective,” featuring curated selections chosen directly by the student committee.
Media Career Talks and Interactive Public Booths
An afternoon talk concert titled “Meeting Media Professionals” takes place in the IMAX theater, featuring actor Moon Jin-seung and SBS producer Shin Jung-hoon discussing drama production workflows and media career paths. The fourth-floor lobby hosts six interactive booths offering chroma-key compositing, AI poster design, and voice acting, accompanied by a stamp rally.
The closing ceremony features performances by the Incheon City Children’s and Youth Choir and musical numbers by acting and arts students from Incheon Digital Arts High School, concluding with the awards presentation.
