Pennsylvania National Guard Honors Agricultural Heritage at Farm Show

Harrisburg, PA – members of the 28th infantry Division served as the color guard during the opening ceremony of the Pennsylvania Farm show on January 10, 2026, demonstrating the Pennsylvania National Guard’s commitment to the state and its communities.

Major General John Pippy emphasized the Guard’s dual role, stating, “The Pennsylvania National Guard’s presence at events like the Pennsylvania Farm Show reflects who we are, Soldiers and Airmen committed to serving our communities in and out of uniform. From supporting today’s opening ceremony to connecting with those interested in learning about what we do, our Guard remains deeply rooted in Pennsylvania’s heritage and proud to serve the people who sustain our Commonwealth.”

The Pennsylvania Farm Show, a festivity of the state’s agricultural industry and its people, runs from January 10 through January 17, 2026, at the Pennsylvania State Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg.The event showcases Pennsylvania’s rich farming traditions and provides a platform for agricultural education and innovation.
