Four Consumer Products Recalled Across Canada Over Fire and Burn Hazards

Health Canada issued multiple recall notices instructing consumers to immediately stop using four specific products due to fire and burn risks tied to overheating and lithium-ion battery failures.

The largest volume recall involves Bose S1 Pro and S1 Pro+ System Battery Packs, with more than 35,000 units sold in Canada. According to Health Canada’s notice, the aging of these lithium-ion battery packs exposes internal cells to damaging operating conditions. The S1 Pro system packs were sold between April 2020 and May 2024, while the S1 Pro+ packs were sold between June 2025 and July 2026. Affected products feature specific serial numbers starting with 083723, 078352, 084105, 078591, 078592, 084106, or 086409. Canadian regulators recorded no incidents or injuries locally by Oct. 5, though the Bose Corporation noted seven incidents globally out of nearly 635,000 units sold in the United States.

Baby Brezza Sterilizers and Newdery Power Banks Added to Recall List

Parents using the Baby Brezza SuperFast Sterilizer Dryer face similar equipment risks. The recall covers model number BRZ0083 with UPC 886267008313, sold between September 2023 and November 2026. Health Canada stated that the appliance can overheat during normal operation when plugged in, creating melting and fire hazards. Out of 6,001 units sold in Canada, users reported 20 overheating incidents without injuries as of Oct. 29, according to importer EI Brand Management Inc.

Separately, Newdery recalled its lithium-ion power banks, model ZHX-PB22, sold via Amazon.ca between June 2024 and November 2024. The federal agency warned that the power banks carry risks of internal ignition or explosion. Though 962 units were sold in Canada, regulators logged no local injuries or incidents as of Oct. 30.

Owners of the Bose S1 Pro and S1 Pro+ battery packs must immediately remove and stop using the rechargeable units, then contact Bose Corporation at 1-800-869-2114 or via their website for a replacement.
