Classical Music Events in Latvia
Classic. During the weekend in Riga and Ventspils, the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra will perform under the direction of prominent French conductor Jean-Christopher Spinosis. This marks his first time leading the LNSO. The program, which explores the power of spirituality in its various forms, features works by LNSO’s season resident composer Peter Vasks Cantabile for string instruments, antonio Vivaldi’s Praise the Name of the Lord, Johann Sebastian Bach’s Concerto for Harpsichord and Orchestra in D minor, and Gabriela’s notable and thrilling Requiem. the concert will feature soprano Nina Spinoza, baritone Halvor Melin, harpsichordist Ieva Saliete, and the State Academic Choir Latvia.

Classic. The Liepaja Symphony Orchestra will embark on a latvian tour led by its chief conductor Gunta kuzma, featuring young Latvian pianist Daniil Mickiewicz. He will perform edvard Grieg’s Piano Concerto. The program also includes Ludwig van Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony and Gundars Pone’s Overture The Beautiful Venetian.
