Welcome to the ArchyNewsy community. We believe that thoughtful conversation adds depth and value to our stories. To ensure our comment sections remain a constructive and respectful space for everyone, we ask that you follow these guidelines.

1. Our Goal

We aim to host a space for insightful dialogue that builds on the topics we cover. We welcome diverse perspectives and vigorous debate, but we will not tolerate harassment, hate speech, or spam.

2. The House Rules

To maintain a healthy community, we require that you adhere to the following rules:

Stay on Topic: Comments must be relevant to the article they appear on.
No Hate Speech: We have a zero-tolerance policy for racism, sexism, homophobia, and any other form of discrimination or incitement of hatred.
No Personal Attacks: Criticize ideas, not people. Insults, threats, or harassment directed at other commenters, authors, or subjects of our articles will be removed.
No Defamation: Do not make unverified and damaging allegations about other people or organizations.
No Spam or Self-Promotion: Comments posted for the primary purpose of promoting a product, service, or irrelevant website will be deleted.

3. User Accounts

Meaningful conversation requires accountability. Commenting requires a verified ArchyNewsy account or authentication through a recognized social media provider. We reserve the right to block accounts using disposable or temporary email addresses.

4. Our Moderation Process

To ensure a high-quality discussion, we actively moderate our comment sections.

Pre-Moderation: To prevent spam and abuse, comments from all first-time posters are held in a queue for human approval.
Automated Filtering: We use automated filters to catch common profanity and spam patterns.
Human Review: Our moderators review flagged comments within 24 business hours.
Three-Strike Policy: Users who repeatedly violate our guidelines will have their commenting privileges permanently revoked.

5. Use of AI Moderation Tools

To help identify potentially toxic or off-topic comments at scale, we employ AI classification tools (such as the Perspective API) to score comments for civility. However, the final decision to remove a comment always rests with our human moderation team.

6. Flagging & Reporting

If you see a comment that violates our guidelines, please do not engage with the user. Instead, use the “Report” link to flag it for our moderators. Urgent issues can be emailed directly to contact@archynewsy.com.

7. Appeals

If you believe your comment was removed in error, you can appeal the decision. Please email contact@archynewsy.com with the subject line “Comment Appeal” and include the article URL, your username, and the text of the original comment. Our team will review appeals within 3 business days.
