Several villages near the epicenter of the earthquake remain completely isolated two days after earthquake in Morocco due to the collapse of roads, which makes it difficult for residents to access medical care and basic help. This is the case, for example, of 17 mountain villages in the Imgdal region, where around twenty of their inhabitants have had to cross 13 kilometers between the arid mountains on foot to the main road.
Two days after the earthquake that has left more than 2,122 dead and 2,421 injured, Moroccan rescue teams, supported by foreign reinforcements, continue their efforts to try to find survivors and assist the hundreds of people whose homes have been devastated by the earthquake. Morocco announced this Sunday that it has accepted “at this time” the offers of Spain, the United Kingdom, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates to “send search and rescue teams.”
