Celtic Hammer Aberdeen in Dominant Premier Sports Cup Semi-Final

Daizen Maeda produced a hat-trick performance as Celtic thrashed Aberdeen 6-0 in a dominant display at Hampden Park, sending them through to the Premier Sports Cup final and inflicting a first defeat on new Dons boss Jimmy Thelin.

Celtic Overwhelm Aberdeen:

The Hoops burst out of the blocks, scoring an extraordinary five goals in a devastating 30-minute spell either side of half-time. Cameron Carter-Vickers headed home the opener from a corner in the 29th minute, sparking a goal blitz that left Aberdeen reeling. From there, Celtic displayed clinical efficiency, with Maeda setting up Kyogo Furuhashi for the second before Nicolas Kuhn also found the net to secure a commanding lead going into the break.

The second half saw no let-up in Celtic’s relentless attack. Maeda’s quick thinking and goal-scoring instincts led to two more goals, followed by a spectacular finish from Kuhn, who curled the ball into the net despite a crowded penalty area. Maeda completed his hat-trick late on, leaving Aberdeen shattered and dreaming of a different result.

Aberdeen’s Invincible Streak Ends:

The loss marked the end of a remarkable run for Aberdeen, who had entered the game unbeaten in 21 matches since losing to Celtic in last season’s Scottish Cup semi-final. Despite recent wins over Rangers and a consistent form under Thelin, they were simply outclassed by a ruthless Celtic side.

Celtic’s Road to the Final:

Celtic will now face the winners of Sunday’s encounter between Motherwell and Rangers in the final on December 15th. Brendan Rodgers’ side continues to showcase their title-contending credentials and they are once again a force to be reckoned with in Scottish football.
