Swedish Lotto Winner Plans to Buy New Home with $4.8 Million Prize

Saturday night was a memorable one for a swedish Lotto player. The game offered a million-dollar rain, with a whopping twelve million wins. The evening’s highest prize landed at just over SEK 4.8 million (approximately $480,000 USD) thanks to a player hitting seven correct numbers on Lotto 1. the winner is a man in his 50s from Vendelsö, who is now planning to buy a new home.

When Svenska Spel Tur’s communicator reached the winner, he had already confirmed his winning numbers.

“It feels very good, but it hasn’t really sunk in yet. I checked the numbers on Saturday night and watched as five correct became six correct, and then seven correct. It was fantastic,” says the winner.

The winner has been playing random numbers for many years, previously winning only smaller amounts. Saturday’s seven correct numbers on Lotto 1 yielded a total of SEK 4,828,994.

“I will buy a new home with the winnings. Ther are always places to put the money, but that remains to be seen,” he says.

Svenska spel Tur’s communicator, Filippa Jartén, congratulated the winner on his ample win.
