Chelsea Denies Manchester United with Last-Minute Equalizer in Tense Premier League Clash
Manchester United’s celebrations following the sacking of former manager Erik ten Hag were cut short as Chelsea snatched a dramatic 1-1 draw at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Fernandes Pens Penalty, Caicedo Responds in a Flash
Bruno Fernandes converted a penalty in the 70th minute after Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sánchez fouled Rasmus Højlund. United’s interim manager, Ruud van Nistelrooy, watched in delight as Fernandes sent Sánchez the wrong way.
But the lead was short-lived. Just four minutes later, Moisés Caicedo unleashed a powerful volley that found the back of the net, securing a vital point for Chelsea. André Onana got a slight touch, but the effort proved too strong.

Caicedo on Chelsea’s Late Heroics
“It was the chance to score a goal. I did it. I’m so happy,” Caicedo told BBC Sport.

In a dramatic finish, Garnacho again came close, creating a chance for Joshua Zirkzee whose shot deflected off a Chelsea defender and over the net, leaving Old Trafford fans resigned.
Intriguing First Half Action
Chelsea’s Noni Madueke hit the post early in the game, followed by a Marcus Rashford header off the crossbar as the first half finished in a flurry of near misses.
Ten Hag’s departure marks a transition period for United. Coach Ruben Amorim is expected to take over on November 11th,
