blue Sage Capital Acquires hire Counsel
Blue Sage Capital has expanded its Purpose Legal portfolio company through the acquisition of Hire Counsel, a provider of managed review, flexible legal staffing, and legal operations services. Hire Counsel, formerly backed by Long Point Capital, was founded in 1993 by Joan Davison and is led by CEO Greg Mazares. The company offers services to law firms, corporations, and government entities for litigation support, regulatory matters, and investigations, utilizing a network of over 70,000 attorneys and operating from its Dallas headquarters.Blue Sage Capital, based in Austin, Texas, focuses on investments in niche manufacturing, environmental solutions, and specialty services businesses. The firm recently closed its fourth fund with $618 million in capital,exceeding its initial targets. Comerica Bank financed the acquisition, with JEGI LEONIS serving as financial advisor to Hire Counsel and Long Point Capital.
