Three Men Charged Following €10 Million Drug Seizure in County Louth

Three men have been charged in connection with the seizure of approximately €10 million worth of cannabis in County Louth, Ireland. The case was heard during a special sitting of Dundalk District Court this evening, with evidence presented regarding the arrest, charge, and caution of the three individuals.

Graham Somers, 37, with an address at Moscow Drive in Liverpool, United Kingdom, Brian Coleman, 38, of Glasanaon Road in Finglas, Dublin 11, and Alan O’neill, 57, with an address at Hill of Rath in Drogheda, Co Louth, each face charges related to the incident.

All three men are accused of unlawful possession of a controlled drug, specifically cannabis, on January 30th at Unit 2 Newtownstalaban in County Louth, violating section three of the Misuse of Drugs Act. Additionally, they are each charged with possession of the controlled drug for the purpose of sale or supply, contravening section 15 of the same Act.

Detectives from the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau presented the evidence before Judge Stephanie Coggins. The court was informed that none of the accused offered a response when the charges were formally read to them by the arresting officers.

Legal aid applications submitted on behalf of each man were approved by the court.No bail applications were made during the proceedings, and all three defendants were remanded in custody. They are scheduled to reappear before Dundalk District Court on Wednesday, Febuary 4th, via videolink.
