Chuck Negron, the distinctive lead vocalist behind some of Three Dog Night’s most enduring hits, has died at the age of 83. Negron passed away on February 2nd, 2026, at his home in Studio City, california, surrounded by family, following a battle with heart failure and COPD.

As an original member of three Dog Night, Negron’s vocals were integral to the band’s success during its peak from 1967 to 1976. He lent his voice to iconic tracks including “joy to the World,” “One,” “Easy to Be Hard,” “An Old fashioned love Song,” and “The Show must Go on.” The band amassed an remarkable 21 Top 40 hits and sold over 60 million records during this period, becoming a staple of American rock radio.
