TIGNES, france – Slovakian para-alpine skier Alexandra Rexová has achieved remarkable success at the World Cup event in Tignes, France, securing two first-place finishes in the led-up to the Winter Paralympic Games in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo (March 6-15).
Competing in the women’s para-alpine category,the 20-year-old athlete,alongside her guide Sophia Polák,also claimed second place in the overall ranking. This performance marks a notable milestone in Rexová’s readiness for the Paralympics.
“The World race in France was and still is really great. with the downhill, we closed the overall downhill race for this season.for us, it is a bonus that we take home the silver for the overall evaluation in the SP for the downhill,” Rexová shared on social media, expressing her satisfaction with the results.
She further added, “I think we can evaluate this race positively. Of course, we take all the ‘speedies’ this season as good training before the Paralympics in Cortina, but every small success is a nice plus.”
The tignes World Cup also saw participation from Slovakian visually impaired skier Miroslav Haraus. Regrettably, his competition was cut short due to an injury sustained during the first downhill race.
