Samsung has expanded its Bespoke AI Laundry lineup in Italy, introducing new washing machines and dryers designed to cut down noise, protect garment fibers, and lower energy consumption, according to official company announcements. The home appliance upgrade arrives as European consumers increasingly flag household noise as a major domestic friction point.

A consumer study conducted by research firm Verve in March 2026 across the United Kingdom, Poland, and Italy reveals that one-quarter of European shoppers consider washing machine noise a significant pain point. Modern home layouts often place open-plan kitchens next to living rooms or position laundry areas just a wall away from bedrooms, turning loud spinning cycles into a frequent daily disruption.

### Digital Inverter Technology Targets Domestic Noise

To address these acoustic complaints, Samsung integrates Digital Inverter motors and compressors across its laundry appliance range. According to company specifications, these components minimize friction and dampen vibrations during heavy cycles, achieving operating noise levels down to 72 dB for washing machines using the Eco 40-60 program and down to 60 dB for dryers. Select dryer models in the DV8000 series and higher feature a dedicated Silent Dry cycle that drops sound output further to 59 decibels.

### Intelligent Wash and Dry Features Protect Fabrics

Quiet operation means little if the appliance fails to clean clothes properly. Samsung combines its low-noise engineering with the Ecobubble system, which mixes detergent, water, and air before the cycle starts. This process generates a fine foam that penetrates fabrics quickly during cold washes, reducing thermal energy requirements while maintaining cleaning efficacy.

The integrated AI Wash+ program uses sensor networks to weigh loads, evaluate soil levels, and automatically adjust water, detergent volumes, and rinse counts. According to company testing, the sensor array detects five distinct fabric types—cotton, delicate items, towels, denim, and outdoor wear—for loads up to 2 kg.

For drying cycles, the AI Dry+ feature on compatible units measures load humidity and temperature to calibrate heat exchanger output and motor speeds. This automated adjustment cuts both cycle times and power draw by up to 20 percent, according to internal company data.

### SmartThings Integration and Energy Management

Users can monitor and control the appliances remotely using the Wi-Fi-enabled SmartThings platform on a smartphone. The application issues alerts for low detergent levels in the Auto Dispenser system or reminds users to run drum self-cleaning cycles.

Within the SmartThings application, the AI Energy Mode feature allows households to track resource consumption and trim energy use. Samsung reports that utilizing AI Energy Mode with Ecobubble on low-temperature washes (20°C to 40°C) cuts energy consumption by up to 70 percent on eligible washing machine programs compared to default settings. For dryers, the mode reduces energy use by up to 20 percent.

### Availability and Lineup in Italy

The expanded Bespoke AI Laundry rollout brings distinct capacity and efficiency tiers to the Italian market. Samsung confirmed that the 9 kg Bespoke AI washing machines, rated at energy class A-65 percent, are available now. They will soon be joined by an 11 kg variant in class A-45 percent, alongside a 9 kg dryer rated in energy class A. High-end units in the lineup also feature a 7-inch color touch display powered by an upgraded Bixby voice assistant that processes natural language commands for cycle adjustments and diagnostics.
