The group Stray Kids took over North American theaters.
According to Box Office Mojo, a North American movie box office statistics site, Stray Kids’ live concert ‘Stray Kids: The DominATE Experience’ recorded an opening of $5.6 million (approximately KRW 8.1 billion) in North America from the 6th to the 8th (local time), the first day of release, and ranked 4th in the weekend box office.
In countries excluding North America, it earned an additional $13.2 million, recording cumulative global sales of $18.8 million (about KRW 27.4 billion). This is lower than the live BTS concert ‘BTS: Yet to Come in Cinemas (2023)’, which earned $29 million globally, but it is lower than ‘Bring the Soul: The Movie’ ($12.1 million) and ‘Break the Silence: The Movie’ ($12.1 million) released in 2019 and 2020. This is a higher score than ‘Silence: The Movie’ ($8.9 million).
The country with the highest sales in the global market was Mexico, with a total revenue of $2.1 million. Germany (USD 1.5 million), the UK, and Ireland (USD 1.3 million) followed.
Meanwhile, ‘Stray Kids: The Dominate Experience’ is a screen adaptation of Stray Kids’ world tour ‘DominATE’, which was held 54 times in 34 regions around the world from August 2024 to July of the following year. ‘Dominate’ ended with an encore concert held at Incheon Asiad Main Stadium in October last year.
