POW, the rock-inspired K-Pop boy band, paid tribute to Avril Lavigne with their remix of her hit song “Girlfriend.” The song’s release is significant as it was POW reached their first-anniversary.
For “Boyfriend,” the quintet revamped Lavigne’s 2007 hit single, the Canadian superstar’s debut on the Billboard Hot 100 and one of music’s biggest tracks. POW’s version keeps the original’s signature stomping production and catchy chorus intact with lyrics in both English and Korean.
POW members Jungbin, Yorch, Hyunbin, Dongyeon, and Hong explain that the superstar played a significant role in their musical background and made songs like “Boyfriend” possible.
