In Boltigen BE, after local hero Franjo von Allmen’s three Olympic gold medals, Franjo euphoria has broken out again. Banners decorate the Simmental village and students practice a “Franjo song”.
At the school in the Reidenbach district, the third to sixth graders are practicing a new song in honor of the three-time Olympic champion, as the “Berner Zeitung” writes. Olympia had already found its way into the timetable, and lessons were briefly interrupted to watch Franjo’s journey.
Von Allmen’s former teacher Brigitte Ramseier came up with the “World Champion Boogie” last year. After her former student’s recent successes, she was kissed by the muse again at the weekend and expanded on this song.
“Dr Franjo vo Boltige”
To the melodies of “My Bonnie Is Over the Ocean” and “W. “Nuss vo Bümpliz” Ramseier cast Allmens’ successes in verse form. The protagonist in the Patent Ochsner classic quickly became “Dr Franjo vo Boltige”. There are no motivational difficulties. The 30 or so children, some of whom are wearing Franjo von Allmen sweaters, are fully engaged. Von Allmen should then hear the song when he returns.
World champion Franjo von Allmen was celebrated in Boltigen after his two gold medals at the 2025 World Ski Championships.
Ramseier describes her former student as a “rather reserved boy – except, of course, when he was on skis.” “And he already had mischief in his eyes back then.”
