Striker Mohamed Toure (20) transfers from the Finnish Kuopion Palloseura to Viktoria Plzeň, which he signed until 2029. The West Bohemian club will pay 1.5 million euros (roughly 36 million crowns) for the young Guinean, making him one of the most significant transfers of the Veikkausliiga.

The native of Kindia has had a breakthrough season in Finland, where the spring-autumn system is played. He scored 13 league goals and helped KuPS to the championship title, for which he twice qualified for the European Cups. With his good performances, he attracted the attention of more famous European clubs, so that in the end, Plzeň got the talented striker from the number of interested parties.

“He is a young and very interesting striker, whom we have scouted in Finland. He is fast, goalscorer and has huge potential for further growth. Those are the attributes that caught our attention and we decided to get him to our club.” sports director Martin Vozábal said about the reinforcement.

Toure most often starts in attack, but he can also handle the position of winger. He played 52 competitive matches for KuPS, in which he scored 18 goals and added one assist. He started in Finland in the summer of 2024 in the second division Turun Palloseura, from where he moved to the elite after six months.

“Putting on the Viktoria jersey is a huge challenge for me. I know the club very well from European matches and it’s great that I’m here now.” said Toure after signing the contract.

“We had a great season in Finland, they became champions and qualified for the Conference League. So the transfer comes at the right time for me and I’m looking forward to a new job. I will do everything to be able to establish myself, I have great motivation,” concluded Pilsen’s newest signing.
