John Wick Video Game Return – Latest News & Updates

After years of testing out various formations of spin-offs, both on TV and in theaters, the High Table is finally going to give Wick-heads what they really want: A John Wick video game. In the new trailer for Untitled John Wick Game, the new video game that we assume will get a new title soon—something along the lines of John Wick: The Game—Saber Interactive, Lionsgate Studios, and director Chad Stahelski treat future players to the textural charms of the Wick-iverse’s stylish gun-fu. Set years before Wick completed his still-vague “Impossible Task,” the game will expand the franchise’s complicated lore, which we’d argue has never been the best part of the series but is certainly a rich vein that could fill a whole three-episode miniseries starring Mel Gibson. One thing that should please fans is that Keanu Reeves reprises the role of his long-dead Jardani Jovonovich in the game. He’s no stranger to that, having voiced characters in several video games, including Enter The Matrix, Cyberpunk 2077, and Shadow Generations, in which he reprised his beloved character Shadow the Hedgehog from Sonic The Hedgehog 3.

The game is said to include “a hard-hitting gun-fu combat system, jaw-dropping camerawork, intense driving experiences, cinematic storytelling, and a bold range of atmospherically immersive environments.” Of course, players will get to control Wick as he makes his way through the High Table-controlled underworld. We assume characters like Ballerina, Winston, Caine, and John’s fiancée, Helen, will be DLC. The game is currently in development for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam, with Stahelski and Reeves involvement, per Variety.
