Athens, Greece – February 16, 2026 – Akylas Mytilinaios, known professionally as Akylas, has been selected to represent Greece at the 70th Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, Austria, with his song “Ferto.” The announcement follows the conclusion of the national selection competition, Sing for Greece 2026, held on February 15th.
Sing for Greece 2026: A Competitive Journey
The Sing for Greece 2026 competition began with 28 songs, narrowing down to 14 finalists after two semi-finals on February 11th and February 13th. The final round featured 14 acts competing for the coveted spot. Akylas emerged victorious, securing the top points from the international jury (25%), the Greek jury (25%), and the public vote (50%) Keep Talking Greece.
About Akylas
Akylas is a 27-year-vintage singer and songwriter born on February 11, 1999, in Serres, Greece Wikipedia. He gained prominence in 2024 with his hit single “Atelié.” A self-taught musician, Akylas studied at the Music School of Serres and honed his performance skills through theatrical workshops. After relocating to Athens, he garnered attention for his viral covers on TikTok.
Akylas has also performed internationally on cruise ships, developing a multicultural and contemporary sound rooted in his Greek identity. He is openly queer Keep Talking Greece and has spoken about overcoming past experiences with bullying.
