Police stated that LaBeouf was initially asked to leave the Royal Street Inn and Bar early Tuesday morning after causing a disturbance. After being removed from the premises, he allegedly struck a man who was attempting to assist bar staff. He then reportedly returned and assaulted the same victim again, hitting him in the upper body with a closed fist. LaBeouf is also accused of punching another person in the nose.

Bystanders held LaBeouf until police arrived at the scene. He was subsequently taken to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries before being formally arrested.
