COASTER Commuter Rail Service to Suspend Weekend Operations for Maintenance
SAN DIEGO – The North County Transit District (NCTD) has announced the COASTER commuter rail service will be suspended this Saturday, February 21, and Sunday, February 22, to facilitate routine maintenance and infrastructure perform. Service will resume on Monday, February 23.
Maintenance Locations
Construction work will take place at the following locations:
- Near 8th St. In Del Mar
- Batiquitos Lagoon in Carlsbad
- Palm St. To Beech St. In San Diego
- Miramar Hill
Service Suspension Details
According to the NCTD, weekend service suspensions are scheduled periodically throughout the year to allow construction crews to safely work on and along the rail line. These suspensions enable preventive improvements and the completion of major railroad construction projects.
Safety Reminders
While no passenger or freight trains will be operating during the suspension, test trains, construction vehicles, and equipment will be active along the railroad right-of-way and on the tracks. Residents along the corridor are urged to remain alert and only cross the rail line at designated crossings.
