UMass Lowell Men’s Track and Field Leads at America East Indoor Championships

BOSTON, Mass. – The UMass Lowell men’s track and field team concluded day one of the 2026 America East Indoor Championships at the Track & Tennis Center at Boston University in first place with 52 points. New Hampshire is currently in second place with 47 points and Binghamton rounds out the top three with 39 points.

Championship Overview

The 2026 America East Indoor Track and Field Championships began on Friday, February 20th, and will continue through Saturday, February 21st, at Boston University’s Track & Tennis Center. The event features all nine America East programs: Binghamton, Bryant, Maine, New Hampshire, NJIT, UAlbany, UMass Lowell, UMBC, and Vermont. River Hawks’ Performance – Day One

The UMass Lowell men’s team secured a strong start to the championships, accumulating 52 points on the first day. The team’s performance was highlighted by several personal bests and strong finishes across various events.

Key Performances

• Fleur Balogh: Won the pentathlon with a score of 3,496 points.
• Nyrah Joseph: Finished fourth in her debut career pentathlon, earning 3,227 points.
• Nubia Pereira: Achieved a personal best time of 2:53.82 in the 1,000m run, finishing ninth.
• Salma Boukhtam: Recorded a personal best time of 2:56.74 in the 1,000m run, finishing 14th.
• Jayani Santos: Qualified for the 400m dash finals with a first-place finish and a time of 55.29.
• Kylie Marion: Finished ninth in the 5,000m run with a time of 17:29.14.
• Úna Brice: Earned points in the pole vault, tying for fourth place with a mark of 3.30m.
