Marie Malenko Advances Wrestling Career with WWE Tryout Following Pro Wrestling NOAH Debut
Marie Malenko, the daughter of wrestling legend Dean Malenko, is rapidly making her mark in the professional wrestling world. Less than a month after her debut with Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan, Malenko participated in a WWE tryout at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, as first reported by Fightful.
A Third-Generation Wrestler
Malenko comes from a storied wrestling lineage. She is not only the daughter of Dean Malenko, a multi-time champion in ECW, WCW, and WWE, but also the granddaughter of Boris Malenko and the niece of Joe Malenko, making her a third-generation professional wrestler. Dean Malenko is currently working in a backstage role with All Elite Wrestling (AEW).
Debut in Pro Wrestling NOAH
Marie Malenko officially began her in-ring career on February 2, 2026, with Pro Wrestling NOAH’s MONDAY MAGIC event at Shinjuku FACE in Tokyo, Japan. Ringside News reported that she teamed with Sofia Sivan in a three-way tag team match against ZONES & Dream Girl Ellie and the duo of Great Sakuya & Alivia Rose. Even as they didn’t secure the win, the match represented a significant milestone as her first in Japan. Wrestling News Source detailed the event.
Positive Feedback and Future Potential
Following her debut, veteran wrestler Erick Stevens, formerly of Ring of Honor, praised Malenko’s potential. Stevens, who has trained with Malenko, believes that with further experience, she “could become one of the best technical wrestlers in the country.” Ringside News highlighted Stevens’ comments.
WWE Tryouts and Beyond
The WWE tryout included a number of other independent wrestlers, including Miranda Alize, Notorious Mimi, Zoe Sager, and others. Fightful initially reported on the tryouts. Malenko’s participation signals her ambition to compete on a larger stage and continues a family legacy within the professional wrestling industry.
