History and Development

The concept for the Aichi International Exhibition Center originated in 2014, with Aichi Prefecture Governor Hideaki Ōmura announcing plans for a large-scale international exhibition center. The project was finalized in February 2016. Construction was completed in June 2019, and the center officially opened on August 30, 2019. The development aimed to address a need for expanded exhibition space in Japan, particularly with Tokyo Big Sight, Makuhari Messe, and Intex Osaka being utilized for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The Aichi International Exhibition Center boasts a total enclosed space of 287,000 square meters (3,090,000 square feet), excluding the Main Hall. The facility includes:
