“Gentlemen” Brings Feminist Comedy to Cangas Municipal Auditorium

The Vigo-based theater company Ste Xeito Producciones will present its latest work, “Gentlemen,” a machirula comedy, at the Cangas Municipal Auditorium on Saturday, March 21, at 8:00 p.m. This marks the sixth production from the company, known for its innovative and thought-provoking performances.

A Play About Sisters, Mothers, and Men

“Gentlemen” centers around Cecilia, Celia, and Lía – three sisters with vastly different lives. The play unfolds as they reunite at their family home in Cabo Home for the night of San Juan, prompted by a call from their mother, Carmen. The narrative explores their shared history, hopes, fears, and resentments, while also offering a humorous critique of societal expectations and male perspectives.

The play’s synopsis describes it as a feminist comedy where four women embody male characters, voicing the very expectations placed upon women. It delves into themes of sisterhood, motherhood, and the complexities of relationships, all wrapped in a comedic framework.

Creative Team and Production Details

The production features a cast of four actresses: Stephy Llaryora, Ana San Fernando, Nadia Domenech, and Pepa Barreiro. Sergio Macias serves as the director and playwright. Carlos Alonso is responsible for set design and costumes, while Jorge Ramos Mourin handles the lighting design.

Ticket Information

Tickets for “Gentlemen” are available for purchase through locker. They will also be sold at the ticket office in the Cangas Municipal Auditorium, located at Avenida de Lugo, 27A in Cangas, two hours before the performance begins.
