Nebraska Women’s Golf Records Fourth-Place Finish at Westbrook Spring Invitational
PEORIA, Ariz. — The Nebraska women’s golf team achieved a program-best performance at the Westbrook Spring Invitational, finishing fourth in a 15-team field on Monday, February 23, 2026. The Huskers carded a three-round team score of 838 (-26), surpassing their previous school record.
The impressive showing was led by freshmen Kaleigh Babineaux and Ailis Tribolet, who both tied for sixth place individually with a three-round total of 207 (-9).
Freshman Standouts Lead the Way
Tribolet, a true freshman from Chandler, Arizona, recorded a career-best score of 207, highlighted by an opening-round 67 (-5) that included an eagle on the par-5 eighth hole. She followed with rounds of 71 (-1) and 69 (-3). This result marked a 10-stroke improvement from her previous best of 217 at the UCF Challenge in January. It also represented her third consecutive top-25 finish and second-straight top-10 effort of the spring season.
Babineaux, hailing from Austin, Texas, mirrored Tribolet’s success, also finishing with a total of 207. Her final round included an eagle on the par-5 14th hole. This performance marked her first top-10 finish and fifth consecutive top-25 finish of the season. She opened the tournament with back-to-back rounds of 70 (-2) on Sunday.
Kono Contributes to Team Success
Junior Hannah Kono contributed to the team’s success, tying for 16th place at 210 (-6). Kono closed the tournament with a final-round 68 (-4) after posting back-to-back rounds of 71 (-1) on Sunday. This marked a career-best tournament total for Kono, improving upon her previous best of 213.
Team Results and Competition
Nebraska’s fourth-place finish came behind #35 Missouri (827, -37), #23 Arizona (829, -35), and #26 Kansas State (837, -27). The Huskers defeated #37 Kansas (840, -24) by two strokes, as well as Georgia (849, -15) and UNLV (850, -14). Nebraska was the top-performing Big Ten team in the tournament, finishing ahead of Rutgers and Minnesota.
Additional Husker Performances
Lauren Thiele added a career-best three-round total of even-par 216, whereas Symran Shah rounded out the Husker lineup with a career-best 220 (+4). Olivia Lovegrove, competing as an individual, finished with a score of 224 (+8).

The Huskers will continue their spring campaign at the SoCal Spring Invitational in Camarillo, California, from March 8-10.
