Pokémon TCG: A Deep Dive into the ‘Perfect Order’ Expansion
The Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) is set to expand its universe with the release of the ‘Mega Evolution—Perfect Order’ expansion on March 27, 2026. This new set introduces a wave of fresh Pokémon and Trainers, promising exciting new strategies and gameplay dynamics for players.
New Pokémon Ex Capture Center Stage
The ‘Perfect Order’ expansion features several Pokémon ex, each bringing unique abilities and attacks to the battlefield. Here’s a closer appear at some of the key players:
Decidueye ex: The Sniper’s Precision
Decidueye ex, the Arrow Quill Pokémon, boasts a powerful attack called Crushing Arrow, dealing 240 damage and discarding an Energy from the opponent’s Active Pokémon. Its Sniper’s Eye Ability allows players to ignore all Energy costs for its attacks if the opponent has exactly four cards in their hand, potentially shifting the momentum of the game.
Luxray ex: Rewarding Aggression
Luxray ex is designed to reward aggressive play. Its Incessant Onslaught attack deals 70 damage for each Prize card the player has taken, scaling up to a potential 350 damage when only one Prize card remains. Strong Volt provides a 200-damage attack for a cost of discarding 2 Energy.
Dewgong ex: Energy Control Master
Dewgong ex excels at Energy management with its Wash Out Ability, allowing players to move a Energy from their Benched Pokémon to their Active Pokémon during their turn. This facilitates the use of its Wave Splash attack, dealing 60 damage.
Lapras ex: Synergistic Power
Lapras ex synergizes well with Water-type strategies. Its Hydro Turn attack deals 30 additional damage for each Energy attached to it, while Surf offers a consistent 140 damage output.
Supporting the Fight: Tarragon
Tarragon is a Supporter card specifically designed to bolster Fighting-type decks. It allows players to retrieve up to four Pokémon and Basic Energy cards from their discard pile, offering valuable recovery and resource management.
Lumiose City: A Strategic Stadium
The Lumiose City Stadium card, beautifully illustrated with the Prism Tower, allows each player to search their deck for a Basic Pokémon and place it on their Bench once per turn. However, using this ability ends the player’s turn, requiring careful strategic consideration.
Expanding the Collection
The ‘Mega Evolution—Perfect Order’ expansion will include over 120 new cards, offering collectors and players a wealth of new additions to the Pokémon TCG.
