Ice Spice Addresses Ozempic Rumors, Attributes Weight Loss to Depression Recovery
Ice Spice is setting the record straight about her weight loss journey, directly addressing rumors that she used Ozempic. The Bronx rapper revealed that her transformation was linked to overcoming a battle with depression.
Responding to Social Media Claims
The conversation began after a user on X (formerly Twitter) criticized a video of Ice Spice’s workout, suggesting the results were due to Ozempic. “This weak a– video just shows it was definitely from Ozempic,” the user wrote.
Ice Spice swiftly responded, stating, “Na it was depression im better now tho ❤️.”
Previous Statements on Weight Loss
This isn’t the first time Ice Spice has addressed the Ozempic speculation. Back in August 2024, during a Y2K! World Tour appearance on X Spaces, she vehemently denied using the drug, attributing her weight loss to exercise and a healthy diet. (Ozempic is an FDA-approved prescription medicine for Type 2 diabetes, but has also been used for weight loss.)
At the time, she expressed frustration with the rumors, questioning, “I wish y’all never learned the word Ozempic…What even is Ozempic? What the f— is that? Genuinely, what is that?” She emphasized the importance of traditional methods, stating, “You lazy-a– bi—es never heard of a gym? It’s called the gym, it’s called eating healthy, it’s called being on tour.”
Following her initial denial, Ice Spice shared a glimpse of her workout routine on social media, captioning it, “We beatin them allegations bae.”

As of February 2026, Ice Spice has not released any new music. She concluded 2025 with a voice-acting debut in The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants and the release of the film’s accompanying song, “Big Guy.”
