Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event in San Francisco marked the official debut of the Galaxy S26 series, showcasing advancements in artificial intelligence, privacy features, and overall performance. The lineup—consisting of the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra—represents Samsung’s third generation of AI-powered smartphones.

Enhanced Privacy with the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s Privacy Display

A standout feature of the Galaxy S26 Ultra is its novel Privacy Display, designed to prevent visual eavesdropping. This hardware-driven innovation controls how the OLED display emits light, restricting viewing angles and shielding on-screen content from onlookers. The display remains clear when viewed directly, but visibility is significantly reduced from the sides, above, and below. Users can also assign the Privacy Display to the side button’s double-press function for quick access. This feature is the result of over five years of research and development Samsung Newsroom.

Performance Boost with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Enhanced AI Capabilities

The Galaxy S26 series benefits from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, delivering improved performance across the board. Samsung claims CPU performance is 19% faster, the GPU is 24% faster, and the Neural Processing Unit (NPU) is nearly 40% faster compared to previous generations TechCrunch.

AI capabilities have been significantly enhanced, with a revamped AI-editor in the photo app offering more generative editing options. Gemini is integrated with agentic capabilities, allowing it to run apps and perform tasks in the background. Pricing and Availability

The Galaxy S26 series is available for preorder now, with official sales beginning on March 11. Pricing starts at $900 for the Galaxy S26, $1,100 for the Galaxy S26+, and $1,300 for the Galaxy S26 Ultra WIRED. The Galaxy S26 and S26+ represent a $100 price increase compared to last year’s models. Samsung also unveiled the Galaxy Buds4 ($179) and Buds4 Pro ($249), both launching on March 11.
