Bruce Campbell Announces Cancer Diagnosis, Plans to Tour with ‘Ernie & Emma’ This Fall

Actor Bruce Campbell, known for his iconic role in the Evil Dead franchise, announced on Monday, March 2, 2026, that he has been diagnosed with cancer. He described it as a “treatable” but “not curable” condition according to the Detroit News.

‘Ernie & Emma’ Tour Still Planned

The film premiered on February 14 in Oregon, where it was filmed, and a wider release is anticipated in September. Campbell dedicated the film to his childhood filmmaking friends, including Scott Spiegel, who passed away in September 2025 as noted by the Detroit News.

Campbell, 67, is best known for his role as Ash Williams in the Evil Dead series and his frequent collaborations with director Sam Raimi. He also starred in the USA series Burn Notice and is serving as an executive producer on the upcoming Evil Dead Burn, slated for theatrical release in June FandomWire reports.
