Gachon University Gil Hospital Expands Specialized Care with New Specialist Appointments

Gachon University Gil Hospital is bolstering its position as a leading general hospital by welcoming a new cohort of specialists across 14 medical fields. The appointments, effective in March, aim to strengthen the hospital’s capacity for advanced and comprehensive patient care.

New Specialist Appointments

The hospital has announced the arrival of several new medical professionals, including:

• Professor Soo-jung Lee (Pediatrics): Specializing in pediatric conditions such as fever, urinary tract infections, hematuria, proteinuria, purpura, and rheumatism.
• Professor Tae-yoon Park (Neurosurgery): Focusing on cerebrovascular diseases including cerebral aneurysms and malformations, cerebrovascular intervention, and stroke treatment.
• Professor Je-ho Bang (ENT): Providing treatment for allergic rhinitis, sinusitis, septal deviation, functional rhinoplasty, facial trauma, pediatric otolaryngology, and tonsil-adenoid hypertrophy.
• Professor Minna Kim (Gastroenterology): Specializing in gastrointestinal endoscopy.
• Professor Jiyoung Lee (Vascular Surgery): Opening a new clinic dedicated to vascular disease treatment.
• Professor Jinju Kim & Professor Lee Minah (Emergency Medicine): Treating emergency patients, with Professor Kim returning to Gil Hospital after prior service from 2005-2018 and experience at medical centers in Seoul, Incheon, and Wonju.
• Professor Doo Kyung-won, Park Hee-jun, and Lee In-seon (Radiology): Joining the Department of Radiology with specializations in chest imaging and VIP Health Promotion.

Clinical Professor Appointments

In addition to the new hires, Gil Hospital has appointed several existing full-time doctors as clinical professors, expanding their roles in patient care:

• Professor Tae-young Park (Urology): Specializing in urinary disorders, prostatic hyperplasia, urinary stones, and robotic surgery.
• Professor Lim Ji-seop (Orthopedics): Focusing on spinal stenosis, intervertebral disc herniation, spondylolisthesis, and spinal fractures.
• Professor Moon Sang-hoon (Gastroenterology): Providing expertise in digestive system disorders.
• Professor Ahn Seon-ah (Obstetrics and Gynecology): Specializing in high-risk pregnancies, including advanced maternal age, multiple gestations, gestational hypertension, gestational diabetes, and preterm delivery.
• Professor Hwang Yu-na (Surgery): Specializing in thyroid cancer treatment.

Future Recruitment Plans

Gil Hospital is actively recruiting clinical instructors in gastroenterology, cardiology, and ophthalmology. Further specialist recruitment is planned for May and July in fields such as emergency medicine, orthopedics, and gastroenterology.
