Myles Garrett Receives Ninth Speeding Ticket Since 2017

Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett was cited for speeding on February 21, 2026, marking his ninth speeding ticket in Ohio since 2017. The incident occurred on Interstate 71 in Wayne County, where Garrett was allegedly traveling 94 mph in a 70 mph zone, according to reports from WKYC and Cleveland 19 News.

Details of the Citation

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office issued the citation around 1:35 a.m. While Garrett was driving a green 2024 Porsche. The deputy noted that Garrett was “kind and cooperative” during the traffic stop. Yahoo Sports reports that Garrett was returning to the Cleveland area after attending a college basketball game between Bowling Green and Miami (Ohio) in Oxford, Ohio.

Previous Incidents and Legal Options

Garrett is scheduled to appear in Wayne County Municipal Court on March 10, 2026, but can avoid the court appearance by paying a fine exceeding $100. WKYC notes this is at least the ninth speeding ticket Garrett has received in Ohio since being drafted by the Browns in 2017. He previously received a citation for driving 120 mph on I-71 in Medina County.

In September 2022, Garrett was involved in a single-vehicle accident where his Porsche rolled over multiple times after he drove off State Road. He was cited for failing to control his vehicle due to unsafe speeds on a wet roadway.

Recent Speeding Citations

Prior to this latest incident, Garrett received a speeding ticket in August 2025 for driving 100 mph in a 60 mph zone in Strongsville, Ohio, resulting in a $250 fine. Yahoo Sports reported that Garrett declined to comment on that citation when questioned by reporters.
