Speeding Drivers Lose Licenses Following Police Control on Jæren

Two drivers were caught exceeding the speed limit by a significant margin during a traffic control operation conducted by the police on Jæren on Friday night. Both drivers had their driver’s licenses revoked as a result.

Details of the Traffic Control

According to operations manager Helen Rygg Ims of the Sørvest police district, the two drivers were measured traveling at 120 km/h in a 60 km/h zone. In total, four driving license seizures were made and six simplified penalty notices were issued during the control.

two other drivers lost their licenses due to excessive blood alcohol content. One driver registered a blood alcohol level resulting in license revocation at 86 km/h.

Recent Incidents on Jæren

This incident follows a separate case in December 2025 where a taxi driver on Jæren was subjected to violence by three passengers following a dispute over payment. The driver sustained facial injuries and required medical attention. Two individuals were subsequently arrested in connection with the assault Document.no.

In March 2024, a voldshendelse (violent incident) on Jæren resulted in two people being injured, with one hospitalized and the other taken into custody at the Stavanger police station VG.
