LG Sound Suite: A New Era of Flexible Home Audio
LG is reshaping the home audio landscape with its Sound Suite, a modular system designed to adapt to any living space. Unveiled at CES 2026, the Sound Suite prioritizes flexibility and immersive sound through a combination of soundbars, satellite speakers and subwoofers, all powered by Dolby Atmos FlexConnect technology.
The Challenge with Traditional Home Audio
Historically, achieving high-quality surround sound required careful planning and often resulted in compromised audio due to room limitations. Traditional systems enforce rigid speaker placement, which doesn’t align with the realities of most living rooms. LG’s Sound Suite aims to overcome these challenges with a system that intelligently adapts to its environment.
Modular Design and Components
The LG Sound Suite comprises several key components:
- H7 Soundbar: The centerpiece of the system, a 9.1.6-channel soundbar featuring six up-firing channels for enhanced Dolby Atmos immersion. It’s powered by the α11 Processor and supports lossless audio up to 24 bit/96kHz. Engadget
- M7 Speaker: A spatial sound speaker powered by a subwoofer and three full-range drivers, offering lossless playback and compatibility with Dolby Atmos FlexConnect. LG
- M5 Speaker: A sleek and powerful speaker with a subwoofer and dual tweeters, capable of delivering Dolby Atmos when paired with another M5 unit. It supports streaming via Apple AirPlay and Google Cast. LG
- W7 Subwoofer: A wireless subwoofer featuring an 8″ woofer for deep, room-filling bass. The W7 is scheduled to launch after January 2026. LG
These components can be combined in 27 different configurations, allowing users to start small and expand their system as needed.
Dolby Atmos FlexConnect: The Key to Flexibility
At the heart of the Sound Suite is Dolby Atmos FlexConnect, a technology that allows speakers to adapt to a room’s layout without complex setup. The H7 soundbar is the first soundbar to utilize Dolby Atmos FlexConnect. Engadget
The system likewise features Sound Follow, which tracks the location of a user’s phone to reconfigure the audio, ensuring optimal sound quality even when moving around the room. Sound Follow is scheduled to be available mid-January 2026. LG
Smart Room Adaptation
Each speaker in the Sound Suite is equipped with a microphone to measure distance from the soundbar or TV, understand its position relative to other speakers, and assess room acoustics. This allows the system to automatically compensate for reflections and other acoustic challenges. Users can recalibrate the system and view speaker positions via the LG ThinQ app.
Pricing and Availability
The LG Sound Suite is a premium offering. As of March 6, 2026, pricing is as follows: Trusted Reviews
